Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Job Goal:
Under the direction of special education administration, the behavior specialist will collaborate with staff who works with students with autism disability and other developmental disabilities to assess student behavior and develop behavior intervention plans using the Principles of Applied Behavior Analysis so that students can access the curriculum and show academic progress.

• Appropriate Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Educator's Licensure is required
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification

• Using expertise in autism treatment and behavior analysis, collaborate with staff across the school district to develop comprehensive and individualized behavior plans for students with autism spectrum disabilities and/or other developmental disabilities using Principles of Applied Behavior Analysis both in classroom and in home-based services.
• Model intervention and data collection techniques for direct service providers and review data regularly to inform instruction and track progress.
• Consult with parents and home-based providers to develop effective programming for students that will generalize across settings.
• Develop, implement and support training of 1:1 paraprofessionals; that includes techniques for supporting students in the general education classroom while at the same time maintaining high expectations for them.
• Create and present training workshops on relevant topics to parents and staff.
• Other duties as assigned by special education administration.
