2019 SPECIAL EDUCATION SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

ANTICIPATED SPECIAL EDUCATION PREK-K TEACHER
WINTERHILL COMMUNITY SCHOOLS, JOHN F. KENNEDY SCHOOL
&
CAPUANO EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER

Job Goal: The summer program has a variety of programs to meet the diverse needs of special education students. Flexible, collaborative, adaptive, team players should apply!

Requirements:
• Appropriate DESE Licensure; Special Education (Mild to Moderate Disabilities)

One or more of the following specialized trainings will be required:
• Specialized Intensive Program medically fragile/severe special needs (S.K.I.P.)
• Life Skills; self-contained; certified Special Needs. to work in conjunction with the Somerville Recreation Department (students with severe cognitive disabilities)-CPI trained. (1-7), (8-Transition)
• K-6 self-contained, social/emotional/therapeutic - CPI trained
• Autism - CPI trained
• Special Education Kindergarten
• Pre-school - CPI trained

Experience working with one or more of the following populations:
• Students with ASD
• Students with multiple disabilities
• Students with emotional impairments
• Students with cognitive impairments
• Students with multiple disabilities

Terms of Employment - 4 week Program
• Monday – Friday Schedule, 7:45am-1:30pm
• Start Date: July 1, 2019
• End Date: July 30, 2019
• Stipend $4,708

Terms of Employment - 5 week Program
• Monday – Friday Schedule, 7:45am-1:30pm
• Start Date: July 1, 2019
• End Date: August 6, 2019
• Stipend $5,758

All Staff: There is a mandatory orientation day on June 6, 2019 (3:00pm-5:00pm) and a mandatory professional development/Set up day on June 28, 2019. The summer program will not be in session on July 4th and July 5th, 2019. Attendance each day is mandatory.

Disclosure: All positions listed are subject to funding availability and student enrollment; courses may be cancelled due to lack of enrollment.

Reports to: Director for Special Education Extended Year or designee
