ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY FOR THE
2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR

Assistant Administrator
SOMERVILLE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM

Job Goal: The Somerville Community Schools Program provides After School and Out of School Time Care in the Somerville Public Schools. It is our mission to provide high quality, affordable, Out of School Time Care to Somerville children in grades Pre-K through 8.
Responsibilities:

Site Management:
• Secure Building Permits
• Coordinate logistics of wellness classes, including the coordination of volunteers
• Manage Fall program set-up
• Develop Necessary forms
• Provide for daily logistics and support daily activities
• Visit sites and communicate with staff regularly
• Work closely with school principals to ensure smooth coordination of the use of facilities
• Oversee the enrollments of students and ensuring that office staff is adhering to the policies and procedures the administration has set forth
• Facilitate the scheduling of interviews for new hiring
• Request purchase orders as needed
• Write monthly newspaper article highlighting events at all sites and distribute electronically to the district

Summer Camp Director:
• Provide all on-site logistics support
• Supervise and evaluate all staff
• Plan Summer Camp Curriculum and maintain daily schedule
• Plan all field trips and coordinate swim schedule, including transportations and requisitions
• Support Camp Specialists with student and staff issues
• Coordinate the purchasing of supplies within the limits of the budget
• Oversee the enrollment of students and placement into groups
• Coordinate and maintain a daily staff schedule and substitutes

Staff Oversight:
• Ensure that staff have adequate resources, e.g. working computers, phones
• Supervise Site SCORE Coordinators and all direct care staff
• Secure bi-weekly curriculum outline from all SCAP sites and session outlines from all SCORE sites
• Meet, bi-weekly, with SCORE Site Coordinators and Site Contact Teachers
• Visit and observe teachers at site
• Evaluate teachers on a regular basis. Complete yearly evaluations with staff and establish goals
• Maintain active use of volunteers
• Oversee orientation of new staff

EEC Contract Management:
• Intake and assess 15 DSS cases
• Confer and update social workers weekly on student progress or needs
• Provide basic slot management for 37 placements
• Renew EEC contacts yearly
• Attain trainings and ensure the program is up to date with new policies

Curriculum Development:
• Oversee curriculum planning
• Direct SCORE Site Coordinators and teachers in the development and implementation curriculum
• Oversee submission of weekly plans, schedules and paperwork
• Regularly share curriculum ideas among/between sites
