Job Description

We are now accepting applications for a SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST.

The School Psychologist supports the academic, social, emotional and behavioral development of students in grades K-12 through assessment, intervention and consultation.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Administer and interpret psycho-educational assessments to measure cognitive skills, academic achievement, adaptive behavior, social skills and emotional functioning
  • Interpret assessment findings to students, parents, staff and other team members and contribute to eligibility determinations and the development of IEPs
  • Provide consultation to faculty and administration on topics related to cognitive development, social/emotional needs, crisis intervention, behavior modification, family systems, etc.
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and develop positive behavior plans for students
  • Provide consultation to classroom teachers pertaining to student progress, behavior management techniques and establishing individualized behavior management plans
  • Participate in manifestation determinations for student with disabilities
  • Develop and provide in service training for staff in the areas of student behavior, development, learning, assessment, mental health, etc.
  • Provide consultation to families in order to build home/school partnerships and provide information on topics such as cognitive, social and emotional development, parent-child communication, discipline, behavior management and community resources
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism at all times (attendance, punctuality, dress, written and oral communication, etc.).
  • Any additional responsibilities and tasks requested or assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements
Educational or other qualifications required:
  • Minimum 3 years experience
  • Master’s degree in educational/school psychology
  • Massachusetts licensure as School Psychologist
Specific skills and/or competencies required:
  • Commitment to Prospect Hill Academy’s educational mission and values
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, including bringing teams toward consensus and resolving conflicts
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to distill and present complex assessment data to a variety of audiences (parents, teachers, leaders)
  • Aptitude for details and a high level of organization
  • Strict adherence to timelines
  • Extensive knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to special education
  • Commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds with diverse profiles
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with a dedicated staff and involved parent body
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Master degree preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
