ANNOUNCEMENT OF A VACANCY FOR THE
2019 HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER PROGRAM

Anticipated
Guidance Counselor
SOMERVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

Responsibilities:
• Support Summer School students in need of Credit Recovery.
• Respond to attendance issues, address social issues, reduce immediate risks of dropping out of school.
• Assist in planning course of study.
• Offer support services related to ongoing issues that impact students’ ability to complete coursework.

Qualifications:
• Appropriate DESE Educator License for Social Worker

Terms of Employment:
Monday – Friday Schedule
Start Date: July 1, 2019
End Date: July 26, 2019
Stipend: $3,200

There is a mandatory Orientation Day on June 6, 2019 (3:00pm-5:00pm)
and a mandatory Professional Development Day on June 28, 2019

Reports to: Director of the SHS Summer School Program or designee

Disclosure: All positions listed are subject to funding availability and student enrollment; courses may be cancelled due to lack of enrollment.
