ANNOUNCEMENT OF A VACANCY FOR THE
2019 HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER PROGRAM

Director
SHS Summer School Program

Responsibilities (commencing in March, 2019):
• Oversee the fiscal management of summer school.
• Supervise summer teachers and all instructional activities.
• Coordinate the administration of the summer school program which includes student registration, class scheduling and teacher assignment.
• Supervise the maintenance of accurate records on the academic progress and attendance of students.
• Conduct staff meetings, as necessary, for the proper functioning of the summer school.
• Assist in the screening, hiring and assigning of summer school teachers.
• Maintain high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary.
• Assess all summer school activities and provide recommendations for the improvement of future summer programs.
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum Instruction and Assessment.

Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree
• Evidence of five years of successful teaching experience
• Demonstrated experience as an administrator or supervisor

Position Reports to: Coordinator of summer school programs

Terms of Employment:
• Summer school schedule: TBD
• Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days: TBD

Reports to: Assistant Superintendent and Title I Director

Disclosure: Subject to funding availability and student enrollment; courses may be cancelled due to lack of enrollment.
