Job Description
Payroll Coordinator

Rutland Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and collaborative Payroll Coordinator to join our dynamic business team for the District.

Some of the responsibilities will be to coordinate the preparation and production of biweekly payroll to District personnel, investigate and resolve issues related to payroll, maintain employee databases related to payroll, process all requests for changes to employee master files, process additional requests for payment including stipends, second jobs, etc., provide customer service by assisting all employees with payroll questions, complete requests for employment verification and respond to other appropriate requests for information and performs other related duties as assigned.

Fully qualified candidates should possess an Associates Degree in Bookkeeping/Accounting and two (2) years of experience in payroll; or, any equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires progressively responsible experience in successfully managing and processing payroll. Requires a strong commitment to customer service. Experience with Profund software preferred with working knowledge of payroll systems as RPS will be transitioning to Powerschool EFinance2 software in the FY 20 school year. Strong knowledge of IRS laws and regulations related to payroll and income tax required as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Rutland City Public Schools serves the Stafford Technical Center, Rutland High School, Rutland Middle School, Rutland Intermediate School and Northeast and Northwest Primary Schools. Student enrollment is about 2000 with 480 staff members.
