Job Description
The School Committee of Burrillville Public Schools invites highly qualified candidates to apply for the position of Superintendent of Schools.

The Town of Burrillville is located in northwestern Rhode Island. It borders Connecticut and Massachusetts and is 20 miles from Providence.

The Vision of the Burrillville School District embraces the philosophy of shared leadership as a means of building and sustaining a culture that ensures high and equitable outcomes for all learners.

The Burrillville School District serves approximately 2,300 students, Grades PK – 12 in five schools:
• Burrillville High School (9 – 12)
• Burrillville Middle School (6 – 8)
• Steere Farm Elementary School (2 – 5)
• William L. Callahan School (2 – 5)
• Austin T. Levy School Elementary (PK – 1)

The District’s FY 18 budget is $32,500,000.

A license as a Superintendent of Schools in Rhode Island is required. An earned doctorate is preferred, but not mandatory. The position will offer a regionally competitive salary and benefits package. It is anticipated that an initial three-year contract will be offered.

The Burrillville School Department is a public school district that serves the Town of Burrillville, located about 20 miles from Providence in northwestern Rhode Island, bordering both Connecticut and Massachusetts. Burrillville, incorporated in 1806, is a rural community comprised of nine villages spanning 57.3 square miles: Bridgeton, Glendale, Harrisville, Mapleville, Mohegan, Nasonville, Oakland, Pascoag, and Wallum Lake.

The School Department is a community of approximately 2,550 students, 235 faculty members, 87 staff, and 15 administrators, including the Superintendent of Schools. The School Department is overseen by the Burrillville School Committee, seven representative individuals elected on a rotating basis every four years by the citizens of the town.

There are five schools in the Burrillville School Department, serving Pre-K through Grade 12: Austin T. Levy School, Steere Farm Elementary School, William L. Callahan School, Burrillville Middle School, and Burrillville High School.
