Welcome to Nathaniel H. Wixon Innovation School!

Welcome to the Wixon Innovation School! Our 530 fourth and fifth grade students are enjoying immensely the educational opportunities afforded to them at our school.

This is our sixth year as an Innovation School. The faculty is exceptionally dedicated to the three “autonomies” that make our school unique from others even in our own district.

The major autonomy is the addition of forty minutes to each school day. This time has allowed us to develop an “enrichment block,” an individualized schedule for each student for remediation, integration, and acceleration. This additional time across the school year is the equivalent of seventeen additional school days added onto the year!

Our other autonomies are curriculum enhancement and professional development. Our teachers currently work as teams in weekly professional learning communities and during faculty meetings to develop their professional practice and enhance student learning.

Beyond our traditional school day and enrichment block, we offer a myriad of after school programming. This programming includes a menu of after school activities.

Our new school is strong with excellent parent involvement and support from our community. We welcome you to stop in and visit our school!
