Job Description

TITLE:                                      Industry Consultant for Workforce Innovation Network (WIN)
 
QUALIFICATIONS:                              
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, marketing, communications, or related fields.  A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 3-5 years industry-based leadership experience.
  • Interested in educators with a background in Career Technical Education.
  • Knowledge of workforce development and work-based learning programs and initiatives.
  • A proven record of successful relationship building, program management and development will be required.
  • Be able to work flexible hours and engage in multifaceted work environments.
  • Highly motivated with skills in written/oral communication, relationship building, and flexibility to manage multiple scenarios will be required.
 
REPORTS TO:                          Supervisor/Consultant of Regional Workforce Development and/or CUES Center Director
 
JOB SUMMARY:                      To facilitate collaboration with industry partners in our new Workforce Innovation Network. Onboard new businesses into the online portal.  Participate in Business Advisory Council meetings. Develop and implement services in the region for work-based learning.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Establish and manage industry-based business contacts for WIN collaboration.
  2. Onboard business partners into the LinkedUpConnect portal.
    1. Schedule and train (minimum of three events a year)
    2. Prepare and support all legal applications.
    3. Work with HCESC Legal with current trends and industry standards
    4. Coordinate with Interalliance and SOCHE for work-based learning paid internships
    5. Communicate requirements for participation in the LinkedUpConnect portal.
    6. Train industry professionals within the LinkedUpConnect portal application
    7. Provide data-based management skills and processes to each business.
    8. Illustrate and create quarterly reports for the network and the industry sectors.
    9. Personalize to industry sector standards and needs within the common application.
  3. Coach business partners with regards to work-based learning experiences (building, describing, uploading, working with students, etc.)
  4. Manage all aspects of data (uploading, distribution, etc.) with industry partners.
  5. Serve as liaison between industry and school district/building leadership.
  6. Attend and participate in industry sector meetings, events, planning discussions, etc.
  7. Assist in planning, as needed, quarterly Business Advisory Council meetings.
  8. Attend and participate in all Business Advisory Council meetings and associated committee meetings.
  9. Collaborate with businesses on the pre-apprenticeship application process (LinkedUpHub).
  10. Contribute content to HCESC social media platforms to promote the work and our partners.
  11. Work directly with HCESC’s WIN team to collect data, research grant opportunities, establish goals and objectives.
  12. Assist in organizing job fairs, career awareness programs, and other career specific workshops and events.
  13. Attend local career fairs, industry conferences and other networking events.
  14. Be prepared to design and develop all necessary materials to accomplish the above.
  15. Collaborate with the WIN Education Consultant to publish a monthly Workforce Connect Newsletter.
  16. Report directly to HCESC WIN Supervisor.
  17. Any additional duties as assigned.
