GENERAL DESCRIPTION (1-3 LINES DESCRIBING ROLE): | |||
The role of the Tutor is to provide organizational and academic support to students who require additional strategies in order to make progress in their general education classes and workload. The Tutor collaborates with teachers, teaches executive functioning skills and study skills to students, and develops organizational systems and structures for students to follow in order to keep up with their work. The Tutor supports at-risk students as needed, and develops short-term plans for work completion. The Tutor is expected to be flexible and adaptable in meeting the needs of all students and as a member of the community at large. | |||
QUALIFICATIONS: | |||
A Bachelor’s (or higher) degree preferred Appropriate DESE licensure; or eligibility for DESE licensure waiver | |||

Work Environment: The work environment is in a school setting Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Vision and hearing correctable to within normal ranges. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
