HEAD BOYS BASKETBALL COACH (OPEN TEACHING)

Fairfield High School is looking for a dynamic Head Boys Basketball Coach to join our team of committed coaches and teachers in the mission to educate and develop student athletes on and off the court.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate in the assigned subject area (teaching field open)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of basketball coaching techniques and procedures
  • Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules
  • Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes at a high level
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Experience:

  • Three years coaching or participant experience in basketball

Job Description:

  • Lead successful 9-12 boys basketball program
  • Provide student athletes with an opportunity to participate in a successful basketball program
  • Provide quality instruction and skills development for students/athletes
  • Promote participation in athletic program at all levels
  • Establish and maintain a collaborative coaching environment
  • Establish and maintain a positive line of communication with all stakeholders

The position is 187 days.  It offers teacher salary plus generous stipends and extra paid days.  The district currently covers the cost of employee health insurance up to $365 / month as well as $25,000 in life insurance.
