Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist the grade level teaching team in all areas of daily school activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
Model the mission and character virtues of the school.
Assists the teacher(s) to whom she/he is assigned in all aspects of the teacher’s activities.
Assists in implementing the school curricula and MA Curriculum Frameworks.
Assists students in the classroom, on the playground, and on field trips and any other places associated with the teacher’s schedule/program.
Acts to ensure the safety of students at all times.
Provides a favorable learning environment, ensuring that the instructional area is arranged in a clean and orderly manner and all instructional materials are readily available and well maintained.
Instructs students one-to-one or in small groups.
Performs as part of a team and acts to promote collegiality and professionalism at all times.
Collects and records data on student performance, and assists the teacher in the evaluation of data and the assessment of instructional programs.
May be asked to work in or cover other classrooms as needed.
Provides effective classroom management and supervision of students.
Assists with arrival and dismissal duties and lunch and recess support as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in a school setting
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Current authorization to work in the United States.
