Job Description

St. John School is looking for a responsible, caring, dynamic, and well-organized teacher’s aide. The candidate is someone who enjoys working with elementary -aged children in a rigorous academic setting and is passionate about their academic and Spiritual growth.
As a Catholic School in Boston's historical North End with small class sizes, we seek to nurture and support each learner as they grow. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3 pm. A bachelor’s degree, or experience in a classroom setting or youth programs is preferred. Candidates must be capable of assisting students to different locations with students’ safety in mind at all times.
Candidates must be pragmatic, flexible, and eager to make a positive difference in our school community. As a Catholic school, we seek to employ candidates who share their own Faith experiences and who are fully supportive of the Church’s teachings.
Teacher’s aides are expected to assist throughout the day with all aspects of the classroom including supervising children during recess, lunch, arrival, and dismissal. Additionally, the teacher's aide is expected to support the classroom teacher with all aspects of daily academics, engaging in reading with children, working with students on academic tasks, and providing compassionate support to all students learning new skills and routines.
