Job Description

REPORTS TO: Director of Finance

1.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited college or university.

2.Demonstrated proficiency with computer technology and software required, specifically Microsoft Office Suite and financial management applications.

3.Ability to exercise independent judgment, accuracy and thoroughness.

4.Strong oral and written communication skills.

5.Capability of responding simultaneously to a variety of requests from school department members, administrators, staff, and public agencies.


1.Process all bi-weekly contributions to the State Retirement System and T.I.A.A. Serve as communication and research agent for all retirement issues and questions.

2.Maintain 403b accounts and process bi-weekly payments to vendors.

3.Serve as a resource and interface with all departments within the Collaborative for resolution of payroll issues, when necessary.

4.Train and supervise Payroll Technician and Accounting Technician.

5.General Ledger: performs all postings to general ledger and maintain and reconcile all general, revenue and appropriations ledgers.

6.Prepare monthly revenue and expenditure report.

7.Assist the Director of Administration with budget development.

8.Maintain accounts receivable: prepare billing for monthly tuition and monthly services. Post cash receipts. Reconcile receivable accounts for districts. Compute treatment expenses for Medicaid billing.

9.Coordinate the management of grant activities. Invoice, as needed, for grant reimbursements.

10.Administer the VLA program.

11.Prepare audit schedules in preparation for annual audits.

12.Accounts Payable: review codes for Accounts Payable invoices to appropriate general ledger expense accounts, review Accounts Payable entry by Accounting Technician before posting.

13.Maintain RIDE compliant Chart of Accounts.

14.Process 1099-Misc and 1094-C annually.

15.Payroll: Assist with benefit and payroll calculations; serve as Payroll Technician for payroll processing when Payroll Technician is not available. Record bi-weekly payroll transactions in General Ledger.

16.Prepare quarterly Uniform Chart of Accounts files and assist with Uniform Chart of Accounts audit.

17.Perform other duties as required by the Director of Administration.


SALARY:As determined by the Board of Superintendents

HOURS: 8:00am – 4:00pm

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited college or university; Demonstrated proficiency with computer technology and accounting software, specifically Microsoft Office Suite and financial management applications; ability to exercise independent judgement, accuracy and thoroughness; attention to detail is a must; ability to respond simultaneously to a variety of constituencies; Experience working in a school setting/non-proft setting preferred.
