The home or hospital instruction provides the opportunity for a student to make educational progress even when a physician determines that the student is physically unable to attend school. The tutor will provide a student with instruction that is necessary to enable the student to keep up in his/her courses of study and minimize the educational loss that might occur during the period the student is confined at home or in a hospital.

The tutor who provides home/hospital instruction to students will assist in coordinating the instructional content, approach and student progress with the student's teachers at school.  The school district will determine the number of instructional hours per day or per week based on the educational and medical needs of the individual student.
