REPORTS TO:Principals and Assistant Superintendent
SALARY:As per individual contract
WORK YEAR:Part-time position, 20 hours per week during the school year and 10 additional professional days

Overview:
The 0.5 METCO Coordinator is the primary point of contact for supporting students and their families in having a successful experience in the Foxborough Public Schools. The Coordinator will act as a bridge to support the inclusion of our students in all curricular and extra-curricular activities, and will serve as the liaison for our students and their families. The next METCO Coordinator will support the success of our students through collaborative practice, timely communication, and consistent attention to our students and their families.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Support the recruitment, registration, and retention of current and prospective students in grades 5-12 in partnership with
METCO headquarters, and faculty and staff at the middle and high school
• Plan and execute school site tours, student and family orientation, and community outreach events in collaboration with faculty
and leadership
•Ensure that appropriate procedures and methods of documentation are accessible to principals, counselors, and teachers to
provide our students with any assistance needed and to maintain adequate communication with our METCO families
•Meet regularly with students to set academic goals and support their success at the Foxborough Public Schools
•Proactively support the academic, social, and emotional success of our students through collaboration with teachers, support
staff, and leadership at the middle and high school
•Observe students in class and maintain records on academic progress, attendance, and other student performance indicators to
support continuous improvement of our METCO program and the continued success of our students
•Formulate recommendations to improve student success and connectedness in our schools, and facilitate connections to
resources in coordination with our students, families, leadership, and faculty at the middle and high school
•Supervise the safe transportation of our students through timely and collaborative coordination with the transportation
department
•Act as liaison between our METCO families and the Foxborough Public Schools
•Support families through inclusive and timely communication on both curricular and extra-curricular school activities in
collaboration with school and district leadership
•Facilitate monthly meetings with METCO families based on family interest, questions, or concerns
•Coordinate and facilitate enrichment activities and professional development in collaboration with faculty and leadership
•Attend school-based professional development, including faculty and leadership meetings
•Attend METCO Superintendent meetings, METCO Directors Association meetings, and act as the METCO representative for
Foxborough Public Schools at local or parent meetings in Boston
•Maintain a strong partnership with METCO headquarters, including meeting regularly with members of the METCO office staff
regarding all matters concerning the METCO program and our students, and generating any oral or written reports on the
progress of our METCO program as requested
•Perform any other duties as assigned by the principals, the Superintendent of Schools or their designee

    Job Requirements

    • Qualifications:
      •Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
      •A minimum of three years of experience in a K-12 education setting preferred
      •Previous experience with diverse student populations
      •Background in school counseling or social work preferred
      •Alternatives to the above as the Superintendent of Schools determines to be appropriate
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
