Job Description

Program Goal:  Looking for an opportunity to support middle school youth in a hands on, project based STEAM curriculum? Our Middle School STEAM program is an innovative collaboration with several Somerville community partners, including Parts and Crafts, Somerville Media Center, Parkour Generations Boston, Groundwork Somerville, Somerville Arts for Youth, and DEILab supported by the Somerville Public Schools. We are looking for 2 paraprofessionals to support program activities, supervise snack, moderate student behavior, and assist with homework help and tutoring.

 

School Paraprofessionals are strongly urged to apply

 

SPELL Partner Site Coordinator:

  • Willingness to learn and jump in enthusiastically to all programs
  • Excited to serve as a role model for youth
  • Must participate in program orientation – date/time TBA
  • Bilingual/multilingual preferred
  • Must be available Wednesdays from 2:30-5:00 and half days from 12-5:00 (with the exception of any required PD scheduled on half days)

2022-2023 School Year, October 2022 - May 2023

Afterschool/Evening Hours

 

2:30-5:00  on Wednesdays

12:00-5:00 on Wednesdays that are half school days 

 

Salary:  $25 per hour worked/Maximum of 102 work hours

 

Reports to:  OST Director Heather McCormack and Innovations Coordinator Jason Behrens
