Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate successfully with students, families, and faculty/staff.
  • Ability to accept directions and work in a support role.
  • Previous successful experience working in an edcuational setting or with students is preferred.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implementing teacher-designed instructional activities under the direct supervision of a special education teacher
  • Monitoring and providing students with assistance during inclusion or sub-separate classroom activities
  • Supporting individual student needs
  • Assisting and carrying out IEP’s as directed by the supervision teacher and providing appropriate accommodations
  • Helping students with routine daily living skills and vocational tasks
  • Assisting students who have social-emotional, sensory, motor or mobility needs
  • Assisting the teacher in observing, charting, and recording student data
