Esperanza means hope. Esperanza Academy Charter School (EACS) is located in the Hunting Park section of North Philadelphia and prides itself on serving the students in the community in which it is located. During the 2022-2023 school year, Esperanza Academy will serve grades: K, 1, 4, 5, and 6-12. Esperanza Academy believes that education can be a vehicle for social and economic progress for marginalized communities. As a result, we are relentless in our pursuit to provide our students with the best educational option in the Philadelphia area.

Our proven track record of academic success with students who have historically been underserved sets us apart. The Academy has 11th-grade test scores above the city of Philadelphia average and value-added math and reading proficiency growth among the highest in Pennsylvania. Students graduate at a rate exceeding 90% and drop out at a rate of only 1%. For six out of seven years, the Academy has been awarded a silver or bronze medal rating in the US News ranking of Best High Schools in the country.

By the fall of 2023, we will have fully expanded to a K-12 school serving over 2,400 students. This expansion will result in Esperanza Academy being the second-largest single charter school in the city of Philadelphia.

At Esperanza Academy, we strive to provide an excellent educational experience for ALL students where our students feel safe, valued, and empowered to take ownership of their learning.  Our team is currently accepting applications for a Bilingual Secondary School Counselor for this upcoming 2022-2023 school year.  Reporting to the Director of Student Development,  this team member is responsible for driving a positive school culture that is student-centered, structured, and celebrates student progress to maximize student outcomes.
