This position is for the 2022-2023 school year in TCA College Pathways' hybrid online program. This position is part time, with an FTE of 0.8
Schedule: In-building teaching days are Tuesday - Friday. Other in-building time required for staff meetings, in-services, and Student Support Services meetings. Actual schedule will be provided upon request.
SALARY: $39,794 - $40,96
(This position will be adjusted to 0.8 FTE which equates to $31,835-$32,773)
depending upon previous relevant experience. Actual starting pay rate will be determined after a review of the work experience provided on the job application and resume.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Implements a school program which encourages a positive learning environment and supports The Classical Academy’s mission statement and Core Values.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to the Principal of College Pathways/Cottage School Program
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Creates a positive atmosphere in the classroom and through on-line instruction to help ensure success for individual students
Sets a plan for classroom management
Models and instructs virtuous character traits
Develops curriculum and lesson plans in line with The Classical Academy philosophy
Creates and administers assessments to monitor progress
Works with parents to ensure success for each student in the classroom
Communicates progress with parents and works together to ensure tasks are completed
Attends meetings, conferences, and in-services as required
Coordinates special events and field trips to enrich curriculum
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Serves on various committees such as curriculum and planning committees
Performs additional duties such as Success Center tutor, study hall monitor, office hours, carpool monitor, or lunch monitor
Supervises student clubs and activities
Supports and enforces TCA policies and expectations such as uniform policies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor degree (with minimum 24 credit hours in subject area or passing PRAXIS or any CDE approved state content test in subject area).
EXPERIENCE:
Expertise in the subject areas taught
On-line instruction experience preferred, but not required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of basic materials for grade level or subject area

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a classroom setting and on-line setting with occasional supervision duties such as Success Center, study hall, carpool line, field trips, or special activities
Work normal school hours and other times as needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Stoops, kneels, crouches, bends, reaches, and balances while working or helping students
Spends some time sitting but the majority of time standing and walking while performing job duties
Oral, vision, and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication

MEDICAL: There are three options for Medical coverage, including an HSA option; as well as access to PeakMed for eligible staff members who elect a TCA Medical plan. The Classical Academy (TCA) makes a monthly contribution toward your medical premiums as an employee.
DENTAL: Dental insurance is offered through Delta Dental of Colorado. TCA makes a monthly contribution toward the premium for this benefit
LIFE/AD&D/LTD: Employees are provided a $25,000 group term life insurance through The Standard Life Insurance Company and offers an Accidental Death and Dismemberment and Long-term Disability policy as well. TCA pays the full cost of this benefit.
PERA: Administered by Colorado PERA, this is a tax deferred retirement account to which you contribute 10% of your monthly earnings. TCA contributes 20.9% to the PERA pension trust fund on your behalf.
VOLUNTARY VISION: EyeMed is the voluntary vision program available to TCA employees.
WELLNESS PROGRAM: A voluntary wellness program though Orriant is offered in which employees are eligible to earn an incentive of up to $150 for participation with achievement of wellness activity goals
RETIREMENT OPTIONS: Employees may elect to participate in deferred income for retirement purposes: PERA Plus 401 (k)
MEDICAL and DEPENDENT CARE FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT: This account allows employees to save money for unreimbursed medical expenses or dependent care expenses to be used within the plan year (July to June) on a tax-exempt basis. This reduces your taxable income.
TIME OFF COMPENSATION: A1.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employee is provided with Staff Leave and Personal Leave. IFor positions less than 1.0 FTE, your leave time will be prorated accordingly based on FTE. Our leave program is fully compliant with the Colorado Healthy Families Workplace Act.
PRIORITY ENROLLMENT STATUS: Children of staff members .4 FTE and above receive priority enrollment of their child/children at The Classical Academy Charter School.
