Job Description


  • Provide inclusion support as well as small group direct support focused on skill development and working toward meeting IEP goals;
  • Support curriculum modifications as needed;
  • Create data management techniques to collect and analyze data for the purpose of tracking academic progress;
  • Serve as student special education liaison, participate in meetings, prepare Progress Reports and complete required IEP paperwork according to mandated procedures and timelines;
  • Conduct academic evaluations to support eligibility determination at both initial and three year re-evaluations.
  • Participate in curriculum and other developmental opportunities, including PLCs, special education department meetings and curriculum meetings
  • Collaborate and consult with General Education Teachers, Related Service Providers and other special education staff as needed. 
  • Parent communication and support home/school collaboration. 
  • Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and in self-selected professional growth activities.



  • Special Education Teacher Certification (i.e. Moderate Disabilities PreK-8)
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills (communication, problem-solving, collegiality, collaboration) 
  • Strong organizational skills and willingness to be flexible to meet the needs of students.
  • Prior experience working as a special education teacher is preferred.
