Job Description
- Assignment, location, hours and times worked are subject to change based on program/staffing needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compiles and maintains accurate individual and team performance records
- Assures the necessary set up and take down of equipment as well as maintaining a clean facility
- Attends meetings scheduled by the Athletic Director
- Complies with rules, regulations, and policies of the district, athletic conference, and O.S.A.A.
- Educates student athletes and assistant coaches in safety procedures including the need to report injuries immediately to coach/trainer
- Fosters team building concepts
- Implements appropriate procedures for handling injury situations; ensures the availability of a properly supplied first aid kit and emergency care cards at all times
- Issues, collects, inventories, and stores equipment in a safe and secure location
- Models positive and professional characteristics and conduct
- Monitors athletes’ school attendance, grades, and personal conduct
- Motivates individuals and the team, both on and off the playing field/court
- Plans, organizes, and implements the teaching fundamentals, strategies, and rules of an assigned sport
- Provides assistance at contests or events not associated with assigned sport and attends fundraising events
- Stays knowledgeable of changing rules, techniques, and philosophies relevant to the assigned sport
- Supervises practices and contests including locker rooms and buses
- Rides buses to and from away events
- Composes and distributes media releases
- Directs activities of assistants
- Coordinates off-season physical conditioning programs
- Recruits students for participation in sport
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
- Knowledge of rules, regulations, and policies of the district, athletic conferences, and O.S.A.A.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work with disgruntled adults and students
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions
- CPR/First Aid Certificate required
- Valid Oregon driver license
- ASEP Certified
- Clearance of a criminal background check and fingerprinting
