The BEL Center in Brattleboro, VT is looking for Behavior Therapy Assistants to work in our center-based early-childhood classroom. This is an entry-level position, with both part time and full time positions available. Even if you haven't finished your degree, but are looking to work with children and make a difference in their lives this position is a great stepping stone.
The BEL Center Intensive Intervention program offers full-day, year-round therapeutic services to children with autism spectrum diagnoses ( ASD). Our program is designed to support the development of communication, play and social skills, emotional regulation, and pre-academic skills. Our programs are based on applied behavior analysi( ABA), the evidence based practice for supporting individuals with an ASD. Our primary goal is to help each child to reach their highest potential through positive, relationship based, collaborative programming.
The candidate should have experience and/or interest in working with students between the ages of 3 and 5 with developmental delays. Candidates will be trained in working with students using applied behavior analysis (ABA) to teach foundational skills. The candidate should have good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively on a team.
The BTA supports all students and assists the BCBA and Behavior Therapist in the delivery of curricula.
Responsibilities include:
• Provide academic, behavioral and/ or emotional support for students during the day.
• Prepares instructional material for students.
• Assists with the management of individual student and classroom behavior.
• Participates and completes mandatory and elective professional development opportunities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Assist in behavioral interventions and with daily living skills (ADLs) such as toileting, dressing, and assisting with nutritional needs

Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree, or working towards a degree preferred but not required
• Desire to work with children in a supportive and rewarding setting
•Prior experience working with children in early education settings
•Experience with applied behavior analysis a plus
