Job Description

The Learning Community, a vibrant public charter school, seeks a creative, energetic
Social Service Access VISTA interested in being part of a close-knit and collaborative
school community. Our team enjoys autonomy, collaboration, leadership and
opportunities for growth. Spanish language skills are a plus.
The Learning Community, an innovative urban K-8 charter school with 84% of students
that qualify for free or reduced-price lunch/the proxy for poverty rate, 45% English
Language Learners and high student achievement, is a warm and welcoming school

The Learning Community seeks a savvy, detail oriented, flexible and capable problem
solver with demonstrated initiative, and excellent organizational, interpersonal and
analytical skills to empower our families and students by providing the with information
and access to various supports.
The Social Services Access VISTA will support our Social Emotional Team in creating and
coordinating systems for increased student attendance, family access to social
services, and student access to school-based services. They will support in the
development of pathways to build efficiency and capacity within the school and
advance our mission of empowering children and families throughout our community.

FINANCIAL AWARD: VISTAs receive a living stipend, health insurance and have a choice
between a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or a cash stipend upon completion of term.
