The Learning Community, a vibrant public charter school, seeks a creative, energetic
Information Technologies (IT) VISTA interested in being part of a close-knit and
collaborative school community. Our team enjoys autonomy, collaboration, leadership
and opportunities for growth. Spanish language skills are a plus.
The Learning Community, an innovative urban K-8 charter school with 84% of students
that qualify for free or reduced-price lunch/the proxy for poverty rate, 45% English
Language Learners and high student achievement, is a warm and welcoming school

The Learning Community seeks a savvy, detail oriented, flexible and capable problem
solver with demonstrated initiative, and excellent organizational, interpersonal and
analytical skills to empower our families and students by providing the with information
and access to various supports.
The Information Technology (IT) VISTA will work closely with our IT/Systems Administrator
to improve the inventory database and organization for all the technology in the
school. We expect the IT VISTA to have a sustainable system in place to stay effective
and current with the latest educational technology. Mastery of information technology
is recognized as requisite preparation for the 21st century world and requires full
integration into classroom learning to be effectual. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we
relied on technology in ways we never have before. As we transition back to our “new
normal” we continue to rely on technology in our classrooms to foster collaborative
learning, complex problem solving, and development of leadership and
communication. With 579 students in our building, it's essential to have comprehensive
and thoughtful systems in place to serve our student and teacher community to
provide seamless access to our various technological resources.

FINANCIAL AWARD: VISTAs receive a living stipend, health insurance and have a choice
between a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or a cash stipend upon completion of term.
