Job Description

The Learning Community, a vibrant public charter school, seeks a creative, energetic
School Culture VISTA interested in being part of a close-knit and collaborative school
community. Our team enjoys autonomy, collaboration, leadership and opportunities for
growth. Spanish language skills are a plus.
The Learning Community, an innovative urban K-8 charter school with 84% of students
that qualify for free or reduced-price lunch/the proxy for poverty rate, 45% English
Language Learners and high student achievement, is a warm and welcoming school

MEMBER DUTIES:
The School Culture VISTA will support several initiatives to improve and support multiple
aspects of a healthy school climate. School culture is imperative to student success and
requires student buy-in and feedback. The School Culture VISTA will create, administer
and analyze student data to breathe life back into the school post the COVID-19
pandemic. The results of these surveys would provide guidance around re-inventing our
mascot, school spirt weeks, after school clubs, field trips and community presentations.
Through this work they will also identify relevant community partners that will provide
students with enrichment opportunities that are aligned with their interests. Family
engagement is also a high priority of our school. This VISTA would organize programs
tailored to the needs of our families. Examples include Financial Literacy, Health and
Wellness programs and many more. This School Culture VISTA is meant to build
capacity and bring joy to our students and families.

FINANCIAL AWARD: VISTAs receive a living stipend, health insurance and have a choice
between a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or a cash stipend upon completion of term.
