The Summer School Principal will serve as the educational leader and administrator of the District’s summer school; responsible for the planning, organizing, implementation and evaluation of all the summer school programs, teachers, and staff.   


 


Summer School runs May 31st, 2022 to June 30th, 2022.


 


 


QUALIFICATIONS: 


 


  • Valid?Arizona?Department of Education Principal Certificate? 
  • Master’s degree in administration or equivalent? 
  • Three?years?experience in administration? 
  • Experience working with diverse populations? 
  • Knowledge of secondary school curriculum, special education and Arizona State Education Laws? 
  • Experience in staff selection, assignment, orientation, and performance evaluation in accordance with state law and district policy? 
  • Competent decision maker with excellent leadership skills? 
  • Ability to work with staff, teachers and students at various educational levels? 
  • Proficient communicator with excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of district staff and with a diverse community.? 
  • Ability to work independently?

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 


 


?Summer School Principal provides leadership in the Casa Grande Union High School District and is responsible for the planning, organization, implementation and evaluation of all summer school programs. ?? 


  • Develops and monitors the budgets for the summer school programs. 
  • Authorizes expenditures for supplies and materials following established District procedures. 
  • Coordinates the planning and implementation of summer school with departments and sites participating in summer school programs. 
  • Coordinates the establishment of class schedules and procedures. 
  • Provides projected staffing needs to the Personnel Development. 
  • Coordinates the planning and implementation of the curriculum. 
  • Coordinates the staff development needs of summer school. 
  • Assists the summer school Teachers-in-Charge with parents concerns or complaints as needed. 
  • Supervises the safety and welfare of the students participating in the program.   

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:? 


 


  • Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include decisions related to selection, performance appraisal, discipline and salary?recommendations.? 
  • Build strong and empowered teams by providing direction, delegation, counsel, mentoring and expertise to individual team leads, while retaining overall responsibility and accountability for results.? 
  • Promote and encourage the development, training and promotion of staff members to assure the perpetuation of a professional and competent workforce.?
