Job Description

Cabot School District is hiring teachers for its afterschool program.

At Cabot School, we strive to ensure all students experience a culture of inclusion and belonging. Students and staff live our core values of respect, responsibility, kindness, and engagement. Students’ voices are honored without judgement. This is extended into our after school program.

The program, for first- through sixth-graders, offers afterschool clubs that allow participants to explore interests and develop skills in areas such as the arts and recreation. These clubs are led by community partners, teachers and student facilitators from the middle and high school. Other activities include snack and recess and free choice time.

Teachers will work with middle and high school students to facilitate clubs that will be offered from approximately 3:30-4:30 p.m. as part of the afterschool program. Each club will meet at least weekly, and teachers may choose to facilitate one club per week or several. Teachers who work on Friday will help supervise off-site and school-based activities involving all afterschool participants. Teachers will begin work in early September.

Major responsibilities:

-Supervise elementary school students and maintain a safe and welcoming learning environment.
-Work with middle and high school student facilitators to plan and implement appropriate activities for their club(s).
-Provide support and supervision for middle and high school students facilitating clubs.

Pay is $25 per hour and is grant funded. This position reports directly to the On-Site Director.
