Job Description

The Learning Community, a vibrant public charter school, seeks a creative, energetic Middle School Culture and Program Coordinator interested in being part of a close-knit and collaborative school community. This is a new position to The Learning Community and we are excited to bring someone on who is excited to be around middle graders and their families! Our team enjoys autonomy, collaboration, leadership, and opportunities for growth. All candidates must have certification. Spanish language skills are a plus.

These include a two-week summer institute, professional development days throughout the school year, working with external consultants and attending professional development workshops.

Position Responsibilities

•Understands, supports, and promotes classroom community building program and strategies along with the MG Director.
•Assists in teacher-admin feedback cycle follow-through as well as coordination with instructional coaches.
•Supports Middle Grades (MG) Director in ensuring all logistical aspects of The Learning Community MG program are in place.
•Plans, facilitates various team meetings, and follows through in coordination with MG Director.
•Supports MG Director in preparing for family engagement events and strategies with follow-through on family feedback.
•Supports MG Director in partnering with families to best support student success.
•Designs, develops, and facilitates implementation of school spirit routines, traditions, and events – including being available at alternate hours to support on those occasions.
•Ensures all MG supplies are in-house and distributed.
•Creates coordinates alternative MG schedules as necessary.
•Must have middle grades (6,7,8) teaching experience.
•Must love quirky middle grades students.

Bilingual or willingness to learn conversational Spanish a plus.
