SECURITY TECHNICIAN IV

Qualifications:

1.  High school diploma or GED equivalent.

2.  Ability to read, write and speak the English language and follow written and verbal instructions.

3.  Current valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirements.

4.  Self-motivated and willing to expand skills for further advancement.

5.  Ability to work at various heights and in all weather conditions.

 

Salary/Pay Grade:

$13.68/HS4

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2021-2022

 

Terms of Employment:

260 days

 

Essential Functions:

1.  Perform assigned tasks cheerfully and promptly.

2.  Work in harmony with others.

3.  Complete each task with proper written records as required by department guidelines.

4.  Provide prompt assistance to others for operation of personnel lift, bucket truck, repair or replacement of video management, intrusion alarm, and access control systems.

5.  Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.

6.  Comply with district policies.

7.  Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

 

SECURITY TECHNICIAN III

Qualifications:

1.  High school diploma or GED equivalent.

2.  Ability to read, write and speak the English language and follow written and verbal instructions.

3.  Current valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirements.

4.  Ability to work at various heights and in all weather conditions.

5.  Minimum 2 years’ experience in the trade.

6.  Working knowledge of IP and analog video management systems.

7.  Working knowledge of intrusion alarm systems.

8.  Working knowledge of access control systems.

9.  Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and written reference material.

 

Salary/Pay Grade:

$15.65/HS6

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2021-2022

 

Terms of Employment:

260 days

 

Essential Functions:

1.  Perform all responsibilities of Security Tech IV.

2.  Operate personnel lift and bucket truck as needed to assist Security Technicians to reach work site for repairs or installations.

3.  Repair minor malfunctions in building video, access control and intrusion systems.

4.  Properly fill out work orders and turn in on a daily basis.

5.  Work independently with limited direct supervision.

6.  Select and order material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.

7.  Prioritize, organize, and complete paperwork daily.

8.  Notify Foreman of problem areas in all Security systems.

9.  Maintain inventory of supplies.

10.Respond to emergencies in a timely manner.

11.Train and assist others in repair and operation of all Security Systems.

12.Program or modify programs on all Security systems.

13.Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.

14.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

15.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

 

SECURITY TECHNICIAN II

Qualifications:

1.  High school diploma or GED equivalent.

2.  Ability to read, write and speak the English language and follow written and verbal instructions.

3.  Current valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirements.

4.  Ability to work at various heights and in all weather conditions.

5.  Minimum 5 years’ experience in the trade.

6.  Knowledge of current codes and ordinances concerning Security systems.

 

Salary/Pay Grade:

$18.93/HS8

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2021-2022

 

Terms of Employment:

260 days

 

Essential Functions:

1.  Perform all responsibilities of a Security Tech III & IV.

2.  Account for truck, material, time, tools and zone of buildings within the district.

3.  Assist with training of apprentices in the repair and operation of intrusion alarm, video management, and access control systems.

4.  Construct, modify, repair and replace intrusion, video management, and access control systems.

5.  Relocate and expand all Security systems.

6.  Troubleshoot and locate problems in all Security system.

7.  Coordinate work with other trades.

8.  Estimate jobs for time and materials; order materials.

9.  Inspect district facilities to detect needed repairs on Security systems.

10.Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.

11.Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.

12.Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

13.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

 

SECURITY TECHNICIAN I

7.  Read, comprehend and edit specifications and prints for new construction.

 

Salary/Paygrade:

$21.35/HS9

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2021-2022

 

Essential Functions:

1.  Perform all responsibilities of a Security Tech II, III, & IV.

2.  Troubleshoot and locate problems in all Security systems.

3.  Construct, modify, repair and replace intrusion alarms, access control and video management systems.

4.  Estimate, organize, install and oversee building modifications, repairs and material needed for department.

5.  Secure and restart building equipment properly in the event of equipment failure.

6.  Maintain necessary records and paperwork needed to complete jobs in a timely manner.

7.  Update Foreman on progress of building modifications and work orders.

8.  Train and supervise other department staff.

9.  Plan ahead for department and district needs.

10.Meet with manufacturer’s representatives and vendors to resolve problems associated with products.

11.Meet with architectural consultants on new or existing facilities.

12.Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.

13.Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

14.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions for all levels: 

  • Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
  • Be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks.
  • Be available for after hour demands, subject to 24 hour responsibility.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Ability to work alone.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
