Job Description

The IT Support Technician is an entry level IT position that provides technology-related assistance to the six schools and the central office staff of the Bennington Rutland Supervisory Union. The position requires working knowledge of basic computer networking concepts and MacOS, iOS, Windows, and Chrome OS systems, troubleshooting abilities, an independent work ethic, and strong customer service skills in a school environment.

The IT Team is ready and willing to train any new entry-level professional who has an interest in the IT field and/or customer service.

This position has an opportunity to be Part Time if desired.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides customer service and support for the district’s technology and classroom audio/visual equipment using the district’s ticketing system
Maintains inventory, repair, and work order records as directed
Assists in the assembly and placement of new equipment as needed
Assists with hardware repairs (Chromebooks, Windows Laptops/Desktops, Macbooks, and other devices)
Performs other duties as assigned

    Job Requirements

    • Minimum Qualifications:
      High school diploma or equivalent
      Positive customer service skills with a variety of constituents
      Valid driver’s license and vehicle to travel to school sites
      Capacity to lift, move, and transport various objects weighing up to 75 pounds

      1 year of work experience working with maintenance of personal computers and a variety of operating systems
      Comfort working independently with limited supervision
