Job Description

This position is for the school year only. 7 hours per day, Monday-Friday while school is in session. Salary per paraprofessional contract.

Job Goal: To Provide the best educational experience for the schools students.

Supervision: Reports to the Building Principal.

Performance Responsibilities:

1.Acts as the school receptionist for the Drury Student Support Team and/or in the Main Office as required.
2.Answers calls from teachers and communicates classroom needs promptly to Student Support Team.
3.Monitors students awaiting dismissal or while temporarily removed from classrooms.
4.Enters, updates and maintains school administrative and student records/files including, but not limited to discipline, attendance, tardiness to school, lockers, student elections, etc.
5.Generates relevant reports and letters in PowerSchool including, but not limited to discipline, log entries, attendance, etc.
6.Maintains a safe, orderly and professional office space.
7.Contacts parents, guardians, service agencies as directed by the administration.
8.Assists in requesting work for students as necessary.
9.Prepares information for reports per administrative request.
10.Stamps, sorts, prepare and distribute mail.
11.Sorts incoming inter-office mail.
12.Filing.
13.Operate standard office machines and equipment related to clerical and typing assignments including computer, typewriter, calculator, copier, and postage and fax machines.
14.Arranges for use of facilities.
15.Any other related duties as assigned by Administration.

Special Knowledge/Abilities:Knowledge of computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerSchool, District e-mail); knowledge of high level of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary; knowledge of strong interpersonal skills, including tact, patience, courtesy, and confidentiality; working knowledge of the District and location of schools and staff members.

  • Job Requirements

    • Required: High School Diploma or its equivalent (i.e., G.E.D.).

      Preferred: Two plus years of prior work experience.

      Physical Requirements:The position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, sitting and climbing stairs and step stool whenever necessary. Activities also include moderate physical exertion in body movement such as reaching, bending, twisting, grasping, pushing, and pulling of objects. The position requires lifting objects of 20 pounds on a frequent basis, and over 40 pounds occasionally. There is a frequent requirement of fine manipulation associated with the required use of a computer, typewriter, keyboard, calculator, and other business machines.

      Environmental Conditions: The applicant is required to work indoors. The regular chemical solvents are toners and cleaning fluids.
