 $18.96 per hour

  • Associates degree or higher preferred 

  • Interpretation/Translation experience preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:  

  • Ability to fluently read, write, and speak in English and partner language/s 

  • Proficiency in Google applications (Google documents, Google Spreadsheet, etc.)  

  • Exceptional organizational, and interpersonal skills 

  •  Must be detailed oriented, self-motivated and able to multi-task

  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds in English and partner language/s

  • Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district personnel  

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others

Reports To:

Coordinator of ESL/DL Programs

Job Goal:

To provide equitable access to educational information including but not limited to:

  • Academic progress

  • Eligibility for special programming

  • Student discipline policies procedures and actions

  • Enrollment and registration 

  • Special Education process and meetings

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Translate written communication from English to partner language/s and partner language/s to English

  2. Provide verbal interpretations as required via phone, in person, or video call

  3. Translate district-wide letters and documents

  4. Proofread other translations and provide feedback

  5. Serve as interpreter for various district programs and events  including, IEP meetings, parent meetings, strategic planning meetings, etc. 

  6. Assist in assessing and evaluating students that are new to the district for EL identification and placement

  7. Serve as a liaison between school and community

  8. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Terms of Employment:

Full-time, twelve-month year. Work schedule determined by the Superintendent.  Salary in accordance with the adopted schedule.
