Job Description

Under the supervision of the Principal/Assistant Principal, the campus monitor helps to provide a safe environment for students. The campus monitor will be trained and become proficient in 6th-8th grade school public safety protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Heightens safety awareness for students
  • Monitors students in classroom settings, passing in hallways, in bathrooms, and during lunch
  • Supervises and assists students in classrooms as needed
  • Substitutes for teachers and other educators as needed
  • Patrols and monitors restrooms during passing periods
  • Monitors school hallways during passing periods and regular class time
  • Reports and documents violations of school policies
  • Provides ongoing communication to educators and administrators regarding student safety concerns
  • Participates in staff meetings and school and district training as requested
  • Promotes an image of professionalism and efficiency while performing job duties
  • May perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the principal/assistant principal
Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school education or equivalency
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to use related office equipment, including PC monitor, keyboard, and printer, telephone, copier
  • Willingness to work with students of varying ages and ability levels
  • Physical Requirements: carry, file, lift, reach, sit, write, climb, hear, pull, read, stand, type, drive, kneel, push, see, and stoop.
  • Must also possess the ability to walk often and to be on your feet all day
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent professional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Organization, attention to detail, flexibility, and strong ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work without supervision and demonstrate considerable initiative.
Rate of Pay: $13.59/hr
