CVSD Digital Learning and STEAM Leader
Charlotte Central School is seeking a dynamic and skilled STEAM Lead Teacher/Coach and Digital Learning Leader to join our K-8 learning community for the 2021-2022 school year.

POSITION OBJECTIVES: The primary focus of the Digital Learning and STEAM Leader is to support the integration of digital tools in the delivery of curriculum to enrich teaching and learning by strengthening the technology, science, and engineering skills and knowledge of teachers and students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

In the school:
•Exhibits strong leadership skills
•Promotes and supports the implementation of CVSD’s Digital Learning Plan
•Collaborates with, models for, and coaches teachers to support their use of technology in the delivery of curricula through a variety of instructional methods.
•Promotes and supports embedding digital citizenship across all grade spans and in work with the school community
•Proposes learning opportunities for staff and students as they relate to technology
•Works with teachers to integrate the use of hardware, software, mobile devices, and internet resources in support of student learning.
•Creates learning resources for teachers and students which may include websites, tutorials, interactive programs, and databases that support teachers in integrating technology. Guides and encourages teachers to develop their own resources, with DLL support as needed
•Assists in the assessment of technology skill levels of students and teachers and collaborates with others as it relates to the CVSD Digital Skills Scope and Sequence
•Provides professional development in various forms to teachers, administrators, and others around the effective use of technology to support and enhance learning
•Connects the school and classrooms with global learning communities

STEAM:
•Create opportunities for students to design and apply concepts that support the relevant and authentic application of science, mathematics, technology, and engineering
•Have expertise and knowledge of Robotics; Computer Assisted Design; Construction Engineering and Design; and 3D Design and Printing utilizing a design-thinking model
•Connect STEM practices and Maker Movement practices into the curriculum collaborating well with colleagues to create integrated learning opportunities

As a member of the CVSD Digital Learning Team:
•Participates as an active member of the CVSD Digital Learning Team
•Utilizes a professional learning network (PLN) to remain current in the latest professional practices
•Evaluates, promotes, and uses existing and emerging technologies to support teaching and learning, while also considering student data privacy
•Assists in developing and administering educational technology operating policies and procedures
•Forward-thinker; identifies trends in technology resources. Explores ways to bring those to the school and district
•With the CVSD Digital Learning Plan as a guide, collaborates with the other district Digital Learning Leaders in the implementation of a standards-based curriculum and learning targets to ensure common teaching and learning opportunities for K-8 students
•Works with the district team to assess digital tools for data privacy, abiding by FERPA and COPPA

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, in addition to the following:
•Education and Experience. Bachelor’s degree and working knowledge of CVSD and Vermont adopted standards required.
•Certifications and Licenses. Holds or is eligible to hold a Vermont Teaching License. Holds or is eligible for the appropriate endorsement(s) for assignment.
•Language Skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and technical procedures.
•Computer Skills and Experience. Solid understanding of computer operating systems and computer applications. Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education. Comfort level with multiple devices and platforms. Expertise with audio-visual teaching tools and products.
•Communication & Interpersonal Skills. Good supervisory skills and the ability to effectively provide quality instruction/assistance to faculty, staff, and students in the selection and use of technology and media communications. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with peers, subordinates, supervisors, parents, and outside agencies while developing positive relations with students, staff, and the community.
•Good basic organizational skills. Ability to work independently.
