Full-Time and Permanent; Exempt; 7.33 Hours/Days; 220 Days/Year; 11 Months/Year


Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Education preferred
  • Possess or be eligible to acquire license and endorsement for position as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board
  • A minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Experience working effectively with school administrators in instructional assessment applications
  • Experience in data driven decision making based on student assessment data
  • Knowledge of Response to Invention process
  • Experience in scheduling intervention support
  • Knowledge of universal screening and progress monitoring assessments
  • Experience delivering professional development
  • Knowledge of the Coaching Cycle and adult learning theory

Nature of Position

  • Supports Title I Program
  • Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel information
  • Diagnoses individual, group, and intervention program needs using data and plans for the appropriate use of time, materials, technology, and resources to promote the development of effective response to intervention programs
  • Identifies and communicates specific student performance expectations and supports school data teams in documenting student learning gains using a variety of appropriate assessment instruments
  • Selects, evaluates, and refines a variety of teaching methods and instructional strategies for the active engagement and self-motivation of students and improvement of student learning in response to intervention
  • Works collaboratively with other teachers, staff, administrators, parents and community resources to support the success of a diverse student population
  • Takes responsibility for and participates in a meaningful and continuous process of personal professional development
  • Complies with and supports school and division regulations and policies
  • Provides support for the special education and classroom teachers in development of intervention design and scheduling
  • Performs related duties as assigned by the administration in accordance with the school/system policies and practices
  • Models professional, moral, and ethical standards as well as personal integrity in all interactions
  • Supports school leadership teams in planning and implementing student intervention programs
  • Provides professional development in data driven decision making, response to intervention, and data analysis to inform instructional planning and delivery
  • Supports school leadership teams in data driven decision making sessions
  • Supports schools’ student assessment program
  • Maintains records of school intervention plans and schedules
  • Maintains records/ logs of support provided for schools
  • Performs related work as required
