Job Description

MA in Deaf Education preferred; Classroom teacher within an educational collaborative program in southeastern MA. The program is located within the public school setting and has a full range of educational programming for DHH students. The teacher is responsible for direct instruction within the DHH classroom and supervision of students within the regular education classrooms. MA DESE Licensure as Teacher of the Deaf/ASL.

    Job Requirements

    • MA in Deaf Education preferred; strong written & verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate in ASL with students & colleagues and ability to meet Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf ASL proficiency requirements. Knowledge of Visual Phonics, Knowledge of MA curriculum frameworks and MCAS procedures, coordination with team members (administrative director, interpreters, support staff, SLP, OT,PT) , Supervision of support staff assigned to the classroom, Competency with special education documentation (IEP, progress notes, evaluations, lesson plans).
