Salary:  $15.09 minimum - $21.27 maximum (depends on education and experience).  Includes benefits package with $20,000 Life Insurance and Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with applicable co-pays.  
 
 
Duties & Responsibilities:  (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
 
Assignment is to work 190 days from July 1 through June 30.  Hours are flexible and may include some evenings. 
  • Serves as a liaison between students, families, school staff and community resources.
  • Increase family and parent involvement during the school year by planning, advertising and facilitating parent meetings and quarterly events focused on reading, math and/or social emotional/behavior.
  • Engage in ongoing collaboration with teachers, students and families to promote healthy attendance habits.
  • Have a knowledge and understanding of local agencies and providers that can assist families with various needs in conjunction with other building or district staff.
  • Make appropriate agency referrals to families in need.
  • Actively promote the multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS)  in the area of social-emotional, behavior and mental health (SEBMH).
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities as prescribed.
  • Attend monthly Family Involvement Liaison (FIL) scheduled meetings.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians with various methods, including face to face, by phone, survey, and/or letter/flyer, email. 
  • Ability to flex time to attend meetings in evenings/weekends, etc. as agreed by the principal.
  • Will work collaboratively with FILs district-wide.
  • Monitor and manage current food distribution systems within each building.
  • Recognition of the need for confidentiality with respect to children’s and parent’s right to privacy. 
  • Bring awareness and demonstrate a positive attitude toward cultural and socio-economic diversity.
  • Must show passion, initiative, organization, responsibility and be able to take direction and guidance in their work with families.
  • Document all parent/family activities and report to DCSD Federal Programs Specialist monthly through electronic contact sheet, file of attendance sheets, descriptions of activities, photographs and flyers.
  • Work collaboratively with others via planning, implementation, follow through, and completion of assigned duties. 
  • May be required to work partial days during the summer months to conclude previous school year, prepare for upcoming school year, or help current families in need.
  • Coordinate and manage community partners to empower current and future relationships.
  • Will disseminate pertinent information to communicate resources to buildings and families.
  • Fluid and flexible to work and collaborate across multiple buildings.
  • Must be willing to support and implement Davenport’s multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for social-emotional, behavior, mental health (SEBMH)
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Physical Requirements of Position:  
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to withstand weather for outdoor activities.

  • Ability and/or willingness to learn how to effectively use Google Apps and other basic computer skills.
  • Dependable and responsible in time management, punctuality, and attendance. 
  • Maintains professional relationship and confidentiality with the school community
  • Exhibit strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Operates with a growth mindset by demonstrating creative thinking, self-starter, shows initiative, and problem-solver.
  • Build relationships through enthusiasm, empathy, and patience while being a role model for children and adults.
  • Maintains up-to-date toolbox of community resources available to support students and families.
