Job Description

Woodstock Union High School and Middle School is seeking the next Music-Band Instructor to lead our beloved program.

Instructional responsibilities:
MS Band gr 7-8, wind and percussion players with one or more years elementary experience.
HS Band gr 9-12, wind, percussion, and occasional orchestral string players.
Digital Music Production, based on digital instruments with MIDI input.
Beginning-Intermediate Guitar instruction, with an inventory of nice school-owned guitars.
Jazz-Funk-Pop Small Groups, meeting during club time or outside the school day.

History of annual performances:
Two formal concerts with HS and MS Bands.
Option of attending adjudicated festival performances.
Commencement performance and two small-town parades with combined HS and MS Bands.
Many other less formal yet meaningful and exciting performance opportunities, on campus and throughout the community.

Supportive context:
Incredible community support for the arts! Strong administrative support for new ideas.
A conventional Band program that survived the health crisis, shown by strong enrollment interest for the 2021-22 school year.
Pre-health-crisis enrollment of the Band program had been 45+ members at HS, and 35+ at MS, for a continuum of years.
