Job Description

Miller’s Run School, serving children in PreK- grade 8, seeks a 1.0 FTE elementary teacher to join our K-4 teaching team. The candidate selected will be an elementary teacher who is passionate about working with all students in core content areas. The candidate will be part of a K-4th grade teaching team including other teachers, special educators and interventionists. The team’s PLC co-planning time is dedicated to rigorous core instruction and personalized learning as outlined in the Miller’s Run School's Continuous Improvement Plan. Expertise in co-planning, integrating project-based learning, transferable skills with research-based reading, writing and mathematics instruction is a requirement. The school maintains impassioned faculty, personalized beliefs about success for all children, and a caring, safe school culture. We seek a creative, passionate teacher who loves working with children. A sense of humor and genuine love for working with young people is a necessity. The district provides mentorship and a supportive administration.

Miller's Run School is part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have “choice” and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choice.

We are located about 3 hours from Montreal, Boston and Portland, ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and other outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. Both Littleton, NH and St. Johnsbury, VT have numerous fine and performing arts venues.
