Job Description

Johnson Elementary School is seeking a teacher for a first grade classroom. Responsibilities include teaching Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Students are self-contained with one teacher for all academic subjects The ideal candidate should possess a passion for supporting students in their efforts to achieve academic, social, and emotional success. Preference will be given to candidates with experience implementing a leveled literacy approach to reading instruction, Bridges mathematics, experience using data to differentiate instruction, and knowledge of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. This position is governed by the master agreement and the successful candidate will be issued a teacher's contract with pro-rated salary and benefits.

    Come join our collaborative, professional environment in our beautiful, well-equipped school in the Village of Johnson, just down the hill from Johnson State College. Our historic school was originally constructed in 1895. Johnson is located about a half hour's drive from both Stowe and Smuggler's Notch ski areas, and an hour's drive from both Burlington and Montpelier. Our staff are employees of the Lamoille North Modified Unified Union School District which is part of the Lamoille North Supervisory Union.
