Job Description

Mount Abraham Unified School District in Bristol, Vermont is looking for a full-time Groundskeeper to join it's dynamic team. MAUSD is a recently formed district nestled in the Champlain Valley between Burlington and Middlebury. The district is rural and serves approximately 1300 students PK-12.

The Groundskeeper works with Facilities Manager and Athletic/Activities Director through the facility work order system to prepare and maintain school grounds, athletic facilities, and equipment. Responsibilities include general maintenance and cleaning to keep out buildings, campus, and grounds in top operating condition. Responsibilities rotate based on the season. Hours are from 7:00-3:30 with occasional flexibility needed.

    Job Requirements

    • High School Diploma or equivalent with one year of relevant experience
      Basic knowledge of field sports
      Experience in the operation of power equipment and construction vehicles
      Ability to handle industrial equipment and machinery
      A high level of organization and attention to detail
      Ability to work without direct supervision
      Basic computer skills


    • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
    • High School/Trade School degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
