Activities Director

Supervisor: Building Principal          
Supervises: The coaches and sponsors assigned to the Activity Director’s Attendance Center(s).        
Contract Length:   260 days of service    
Job Classification: Exempt/ Administration

Job Summary:
  • Establishes and communicates a vision for FDCSD athletics and activities
  • Administers programs of both athletics and activities within the school
  • Promotes participation in FDCSD athletics and activities
  • Hires, supervises, and evaluates coaches and sponsors of FDCSD athletics and activities
  • Collaborates with and supervises Assistant Activities Director
  • Manages Activities Budget for the MS and HS
  • Communicates budget information and business dept procedures to coaches and sponsors and oversees their adherence to these procedures
  • Establishes and nurtures partnerships with community organizations, youth programs, and community facilities
  • Supervises and coordinates supervision for all athletic events and activity events
  • Schedules all athletic and activity events
  • Maintains and updates a public activity and special event calendar
  • Arranges transportation for athletic events
  • Secures officials for athletic events
  • Responsible for inventory and care of all equipment
  • Creates and/or maintains an Coach and Sponsor Handbook
  • Communicates events and programming with the students, staff, and community 
  • Coordinates State-level events when acting as host school
  • Secures and assigns personnel from the staff to expedite activities and provide proper supervision and security for all student activities
  • Coordinates all school assemblies in conjunction with student council advisor
  • Coordinates student council events, including school dances, in conjunction with the student council advisor
  • Oversees FDSH facilities usage and building maintenance


  • Valid teacher certification
  • Evaluator license required
  • Administrator license preferred
  • Successful experience as coach

Travel Requirements:

  • Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
