Behavior Technician / ABA Therapist - White River Junction, VT/Lebanon, NH

Potential Start Dates Between 4/15/2021-7/1/2021

Keene Perspectives (KP) is a rapidly growing new company located in Hartford, Vermont. We provide behavioral health services, using the principles of applied behavior analysis, for children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities, 1:1, in center-based and school settings in the Upper Valley.

We are looking for people who are passionate about helping children learn and grow to join our collaborative team in the role of Behavior Technician. We have found that the most successful team members are able to commit at least a year to learning and growing with us, are reliable, and are active problem solvers.

$15.00-$20.00 per hour based on education and experience.

We provide services Monday-Friday, year round.

We are looking to fill multiple positions!

We are looking for team members interested in the following positions:

Center-Based Behavior Technician

Early Intervention, ages 2-5
Year-Round
33.75 hours per week + staff meetings/trainings until 4:30
8:15-3:30 M-F plus staff meetings and training
Potential for increased house for services from 3:30-6:30pm in 2021 for up to 40 hours per week

    We will provide ongoing training and supervision in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

    This job requires the ability to follow teaching procedures, behavior intervention plans, and data collection systems all designed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). An ability to problem-solve in the moment, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, communicate well with families and co-workers, and maintain appropriate levels of energy to play, move and engage with children of various ages.

    Experience working with people with an autism spectrum diagnosis, other behavioral needs, or experience with ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) is preferred, but not necessary. A bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, special education, early childhood education or a related field is preferred but not required. High school diploma is required.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    All applicants must be capable of performing at all times the following functions, which are considered an essential part of day-to-day activities within the clinic at Keene Perspectives.

    Lift 50 pounds.
    Assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
    Engage in repetitive movements and actions (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) in a short amount of time.
    Able and willing to assist with personal care routines with clients of all ages.
    Able to accurately record data on an electronic device.
    Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with a team.
    Able to read and comprehend behavioral programs.
    Has reliable transportation.
    IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITIES

    Maintain appropriate levels of energy to play, move, and run with children.
    Follow the teaching procedures, prescribed behavioral skill acquisition, and behavior reduction protocols designed and supervised by a BCBA.
    Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training.
    Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
    Ensure that all necessary paperwork, materials, and documentation are up to date.
    Effectively communicate with families and co-workers regarding client progress.
    Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws.
    Utilize safe and appropriate handling and guidance procedures when working with clients.
    Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
    Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents, and caregivers, outside professionals, Lead Behavior Technician, ABA Interns, and co-workers.
    Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
    KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY EXPECTATIONS

    Accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skills accordingly.
    Effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
    Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
    Commitment to training and development related to clinical skills, professional development, ethics and technology, and ongoing training to perform job responsibilities to required standards.
    Maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up.

  • Job Requirements

    • Required:

      • High School Diploma or GED
      • Agreement to engage in behaviors that align with our company values, philosophy, application of the principles of ABA, and ethical code.
      • To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate a high degree of interpersonal and communication skills, an acute attention to detail, and demonstrated flexibility and adaptability.
      Preferred:

      • Two years’ experience working with children.
      • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT®) credential or desire to work toward receiving your RBT® credential with guidance provided by Keene Perspectives.
      • Undergraduate college coursework or equivalent experience in the areas of Psychology, Neuroscience, Education, Special Education, Counseling, Early Childhood, Occupational Therapy, and/or Speech and Language Therapy.
    • High School/Trade School degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
