Learning Specialist Teacher/Assistant

We are looking for a Learning Specialist to fill a part-time position supporting students from one or more programs (Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and/or Middle School). This 15-30 hour/week position will require coordination with the classroom teachers and other Learning Specialists in assessing what supports students need and in meeting the needs of those students, both in small group lessons, and individually within the classroom setting.

  • Job Requirements

    • Key responsibilities include:

      - Assisting Learning Specialist Team Director
      - Assess students Kindergarten to Middle School
      - Determine programming for those not meeting benchmarks
      - Create schedule for small group lessons with consideration of classroom needs
      - Direct small group instruction
      - Observe, record, and assess children’s progress
      - Assist teachers in determining when educational assessments should be recommended to parents
      - Develop Educational Support plans for all students requiring specialized instruction
      - Communicate with the Learning Specialist Team regarding student plans and progress
    • At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Associate degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
