Job Description

Full-time temporary (currently).
Job Summary: To clean and perform routine housekeeping and maintenance of district buildings to provide a safe and clean learning environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
1.Clean floors: vacuum, sweep, dust mop, wash, strip, wax, and buff.
2.Wash and clean windows, walls, chalkboards, trashcans, water fountains, and sinks.
3.Dust furniture, fixtures, and wood work.
4.Empty trash receptacles and pick up litter in and around buildings.
5.Clean and stock bathrooms. Change and clean shower curtains. Scrub and disinfect the shower rooms.
6.Maintain and clean displays, boards, artwork, frames, and displays. Perform light repairs as needed.
7.Provide setup and breakdown of furniture in cafeteria, gymnasium, auditorium, or other spaces for events.
8.Troubleshoot minor maintenance problems. Handle minor repairs directly. Refer carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs to maintenance staff as needed.
9.Assume responsibility for the closing of the building each day and for determining that all doors and windows are secured and all lights are turned off.
10.Maintain American flag on an as needed basis.
11.Do minor routine maintenance of electrical (replace light bulbs), heating and ventilating vents and fixtures (i.e. changing filters), locks (i.e. oiling) and lockers.
12.Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities by reporting known safety hazards in the school immediately to supervisor.
13.Monitor building and grounds to ensure standards for cleanliness and safety are maintained.
14.Provide routine grass trimming, leaf raking, and maintenance of planting beds on properties.
15.Remove snow from immediate walks and exits and add sand and salt as needed.
16.Available to support students and staff during evacuation drills and emergencies.
17.Notify supervisor when he/she may be away from the premises.
18.May be assigned to evening or day shift depending upon the needs of the employer.
19.Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job according to state, federal and Springfield District policies.

      •Plan, develop, and implement program activities under the direction of the supervising administrator and/or designee.
      •Instruct, supervise, monitor, and assess students in the program, teaching appropriate student behaviors and social skills.
      •Cultivate relevant community, work site, or parental contacts.
      •Maintain ongoing communication with school personnel regarding students in the program.
      •Assist in the development and implementation of student transition and evaluation plans.
      •Maintain program equipment and materials.
      •Document student progress, prepare reports, and maintain Medicaid and student data sheets as requested.
      •Maintain budget records.
      •Maintain strict confidentiality of student information, providing information to parents, teachers, and others on a "need to know" basis, only.
      •Attend staff, I.E.P, and parent meetings as required.
      •Follow state and federal laws and local policies and procedures in the area of educational requirements and program operations.
      •Participate in the planning, development, and support of behavior management strategies and techniques.
      •Participate in required in-service training programs.
      •Other duties as assigned or appropriate to the particular work setting.
