About the School

McAuliffe is a 18 year-old charter middle school (grades 6-7-8) educating 400 scholars who live in MetroWest: Ashland, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton, Marlborough, Natick, Southborough, and Sudbury. We are one of 155 EL Education (EL) schools nation-wide and one of nine EL schools in Massachusetts. EL is a non-profit organization devoted to providing network schools with a highly-respected model of comprehensive school reform with emphasis on high achievement through active learning, character growth, and teamwork.

POSITION OVERVIEW
McAuliffe is seeking energetic and dependable individuals to be our Lunch Monitors! Lunch Monitors are compensated $80 per day for our Hybrid program that will run Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for a period of 4 hours each day. The position provides supervision and assistance to students during school-based lunchtime. Responsible for maintaining order during lunch and recess activities and providing support to the Kitchen Coordinator and Office Manager. Responsible for monitoring student behavior during mealtime and assisting with the cleanliness of the cafeteria, recycling, and the flow of meal service. As well as ensuring safety protocols are being followed during recess and lunch.

RESPONSIBILITIES / EXPECTATIONS
Supervision of up to 12 students
• Distribution of lunch inside the classroom
• General clean up of the classroom after lunch
• Escorting the students to recess
• Other duties as requested by the Director of Business and Operations

QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to communicate effectively with students
Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers
Prior experience with children desirable
Physically capable of actively supervising and/or assisting students
Ability to effectively carry out routines and procedures in the cafeteria
Ability to communicate with the school's faculty, staff, and administration when necessary to resolve an issue.
Prior experience with children is a plus.
