Job Description

The Academy of Notre Dame, Tyngsboro, MA is a private, catholic school, sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and is based on the educational philosophy of their foundress, St. Julie Billiart. The Academy offers co-educational programming from pre-K through 8th grade in the Lower School, and a co-educational college preparatory Upper school. The Academy of Notre Dame a Vice-Principal who will assist the Principal in supervising the daily operations of the elementary school as well as the development of the faculty, curriculum, academics and co-curricular programs. Acts as Principal in Principal’s absence.
The Vice Principal responsibilities are the following:
•To assist the Principal and faculty to preserve, develop and fulfill the philosophy and objectives of the school
•To assist the Principal in the creation of a climate in which faculty, staff, and students develop their spiritual and human potential.
•To assist the Principal in providing for the supervision and evaluation of the faculty and staff and to assist in their professional development.
•To assist the Principal in the supervision and evaluation of the total curriculum relevant to student needs and abilities.
•To assist the Principal in recruiting substitutes and arrange for coverage of classes required by the absences of teachers.
•To assist the Principal with the orientation of new faculty and students.
•To assist the Principal and faculty in maintaining a reasonable discipline in the school.
•To be available to faculty, staff, students and parents.
•To assist the Principal in producing all records, reports, discipline, etc. pertaining to bussing.
•To attend academic and/or social events related to school business as directed by the Principal or President of the school.
•To act as Computer System Liaison for all computer systems within Elementary School.
