Long-Term Sub – Upper/High School French Teacher – Level 2-5 (no AP)

Worcester Academy (WA) is looking for a dynamic educator with a love for Upper School students and experience with multicultural curriculum and pedagogy, and a willingness to collaborate with others, to fill in for the remaining academic year. Compensation is based on years of teaching experience and level of education. We offer an opportunity to work in a positive and stimulating classroom environment with eager, engaged learners with an average class size of 14. The ability to work remotely is a necessary part of the job. At present WA is using a hybrid approach.

Core Functional Expectations/Responsibilities:

• Teach at least four sections
• Lead or assist in leading the equivalent of two qualified activities during the academic year
• Advise a group of up to 10 students
• Complete grading, comments and progress reports in a timely manner
• Adhere to departmental & classroom budgets and procurement
• Regularly attend scheduled faculty meetings
•Attend all school events and functions as assigned by the Head of School, i.e. Open House, Graduation, Founder’s Day, etc.
• Maintain open communication with parents

Daily /Ongoing Operations:

• Maintain assigned classroom/office spaces
• Maintain daily student attendance and adhere to tardiness, accident, and illness procedures including all Covid-19 Protocols
• Participate in all safety drills, including fire, lock-down and evacuation.
• Other duties as assigned by the Division Director, Department Chair and/or Associate Head of School.


• Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Master degree highly desirable

Physical Demands

•Work full-time and maintain regular and predictable attendance.
•Ability to move throughout the campus during all weather conditions.
•Ability to effectively communicate in person and digitally with faculty, staff, parents, students and external contacts.
